(Introduction to Astronomy)
Slide Quiz Review Sheet

The Astro 101 Slide Quiz is a test in which you will be expected to identify a variety of projected images that have been selected from those viewed over the entire course. This is a multiple-choice event; you will be given an answer sheet with three choices for each of the 20 slides shown. You will be asked to select the answer that best identifies each image. The emphasis will normally be on determining the TYPE of object being viewed, rather than the NAME of the particular object.

YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE SLIDES OF THE FOLLOWING:

Star Trails: What direction was the camera pointed? North, West, Southeast, etc.

Moon Phases: Full, Waxing Crescent, Third Quarter, etc.

Eclipses: Lunar, Solar, Partial, Total, etc.

Telescopes: Refractor, Newtonian, Cassegrain, etc.

Interstellar Medium: Emission Nebulae, Reflection Nebulae, Dark Nebulae, etc.

Stages of Stellar Evolution: Planetary Nebulae, Supernova Remnants, etc.

Galaxies: Spiral, Elliptical, Irregular, etc.
