— Evidence —

Every term, each student in my Astronomy 115 course (Life in the Universe) was assigned to write an essay giving his or her opinion on the following question:

"Do extraterrestrial technical civilizations currently exist in our Galaxy?"

This group of quotes involves evidence of extraterrestrials. (The typos and misspellings are real, but they are not mine.) The material is presented here without comment; you will have to make up your own.

    Essay Quotes: Evidence

  1. My belief in the possibility of aliens in our universe remains unconvinced considering there is no evidence proving their existence.

  2. Some things that help me support my view is the fact that our very own intelligent and skillful astronauts have yet to find another Advanced Technical Civilization.

  3. I believe that intelligent life forms do exist in our galaxy somewhere due to the fact that the evidence that I've collected over the years just makes more sense to me than the evidence that I've acquired in class. I have seen many programs on late night television due to hyper activity in my body and I have found these programs especially interesting since I was in high school.

  4. I do not totally agree with the idea of ancient drawings on rocks and in caves being the only proof that show alien beings have previously visited us. Someone could have easily drawn something like that and just went by what publicity and thinks aliens look like.

  5. My next point can be summed up in one simple fraise, "Where are they?"

  6. Although, we have not officially had a confirmed contact with E.T's, I would have to say that there is more overwhelming evidence that would suggest that there is a strong possibility that another intelligent life form exits in the galaxy.

  7. Until the day someone can show me complete evidence is the day I will change my views on this particular topic.

  8. These two points are strong for those hoping to find alien life but those people cannot ignore the fact that there is also convinicing evidence out there that point towards the improbability of any life in the Universe let alone the Galaxy.

  9. There is a lot of scientific evidence available that helps one understand our Galaxy, but in this paper I will talk about two that I feel are the most important for life.
