Plug-In Hybrid Prius Project

 

Project Description:  This project involves the development and implementation of a conversion system for a current model Toyota Hybrid Prius to allow flexible fueling capability (isooctane and/or E-85) and allow for plug-in charging of the battery pack for extended electric only and electric assist driving.  The current project involves students from a senior design project team in the Automotive Engineering Technology department.  Opportunities are available for students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Technology department to become involved in the plug-in conversion aspects of the project.  Interested students are requested to contact either of the faculty advisors for additional information.
