Law Enforcement & Forensics ...

Hello and welcome to my law enforcement and forensics resources home page at Minnesota State University, Mankato.  I am interested in applied forensic science research and how it is used in investigations to solve crime.  Some of my applied forensic areas include:  methods used to establish personal identification, crime scene analysis, photography, imaging and other techniques used to evaluate physical evidence.

Applied forensic science techniques used in criminal investigations have made a significant impact in the media.  This increased emphasis on applied forensic science in the media provides the audience with forensic techniques which allow them to become armchair detectives and participate in solving crimes.  However, it is important to understand that the techniques used in the media are not always realistic.  To learn about the real aspects of applied forensic science, consider enrolling in law enforcement at MSU, Mankato.  The law enforcement curriculum prepares students with factual forensic science instruction which prepares students for careers in law enforcement.  Introduction to Forensic Studies and Fingerprint Identification are two of the courses in the curriculum that provide contemporary fundamentals in applied forensics.

Time restraints prevent me from answering general or specific forensic science questions about applied forensics.  If you are interested in learning more about applied forensics, you are invited to enroll in one of the topics classes.

Resource information is available in the library and on the web.  Included on this home page are a few links that I frequently use.
